How to Share a Concern

To share a concern, please:

Email is not a fully secure method of communication. You are welcome to share only what you are comfortable sending by email.

You may also request to share the information:

  • By phone; or
  • In writing through another arrangement.

Someone from Telios Law will respond within 3 business days to arrange a time to discuss your concern with you.

You are welcome to have your own attorney or a support person involved at any stage, including while talking with us.

What Happens With Your Report

The information you provide will be:

  • Reviewed by Telios Law; and
  • Shared with the appropriate people at IHOPKC within a limited, need-to-know circle so the concern can be addressed.

You may ask us not to share your name with IHOPKC. We will honor that request to the extent we can.

Please understand, however, that your identity may sometimes be apparent from the details of what happened.

IHOPKC has committed to a policy of no retaliation against anyone who reports a concern in good faith.

Important Limits and Reporting Obligations

In certain circumstances, IHOPKC may be legally required to report information to authorities. For example, the law may require the reporting of suspected child abuse.

Beyond what the law requires, Telios Law and IHOPKC have also committed to reporting suspected:

  • Abuse of a child; or
  • A serious crime of violence, such as rape.

We will make such a report even when the law does not require us to do so.

In these circumstances, the report may include:

  • Your name; and
  • The details you shared.

This may occur even if you have asked us to keep your name confidential.
